[...] “Linksify is worth taking a look at. With Plaxo having been acquired by Comcast, I have been uncomfortable with keeping my valuable information in their hands. LinkedIn is becoming inflexible and way too involved. I can no longer afford an Outlook crash and disaster. After working with Linksify for a while now, I have decided to delete my Plaxo account and am using Linksify for all my contacts…” – Miles Austin [...]

Like Plaxo in that they are both address books. That is where the similarities end.

Linksify provides the 3 Profile structure, allowing you to share different contact information for people that you classify as Work, Personal or Acquaintence. This feature alone is worth the conversion for most business people that manage many connections in their business and personal life.

I talked with a reader after this post was available that serves in the National Guard. He was excited to be able to use the 3rd (Acquaintences) Profile for his National Guard information, service history, unit information etc.

One address book-3 profiles; makes a big difference to many. Plus none of the social networking "fluff" that Plaxo has been adding over the last year or two.

In addition, Plaxo is now owned by Comcast. That by itself strikes fear into many readers.

Straight-forward, clean and focused - that is why I recommend Linksify over Plaxo.
