Ken, With the disclaimer that I am not affiliated in any way with Flip or Cisco, let me at least give you some ideas. Do you have the latest download from the Flip software: Here is the link: http://support.theflip.com/en-us/flipshare

Next, search your hard drive using the Search function any *mp4 format files on your hard disk and/or your backup location. You have been doing backups right? This is another terrific demonstration why everyone that uses a computer for more than casual browsing should invest a few dollars and have a Dropbox online storage account. Your video files would still all be accessible and safe from the challenges of your local PC virus or crash.

If that has not given you your files back, the last suggestion I have is to check your Flipshare.com account if you set one up. Many Flip users didn't bother, but if you did upload your video files with this service, you should be in luck.

IF you can find your files, get them off your hard drive as soon as possible to another storage form like Dropbox or even an external USB hard drive.

Your question made me think of the many, many users that own some version of a Flip product and how the announcement by Cisco that they are shutting down the product line. Might be worth each of us thinking of getting our videos backed up, and downloaded from the Flipshare.com site as soon as you can.

Let us know how it turns out Ken.

I took my pc to Office Depot because of a virus I had contacted. Now after getting it back , when I click on my Flipshare icon nothing comes up except a warning that an error has happened and I need to reboot or contact customer support. I have been saving videos since the flipcam was invented years ago and have hundreds of videos that I cant find now. Any suggestions?

Amy, sounds like a phone call might be helpful if I will be able to help. Best thing to do is go to Fillthefunnel.com main page and click on the red "Questions" tab on the left side of the screen. Fill out the form there, and include your phone number and the time zone you are in and I will do my best to get you working.

I have flip vidoe camera. I can no longer upload vidoes automatically i have to manually do it. The techincal support people told me that the program was upgraded and my computer is no longer compatible with the program. Im not sure why this is. I can manually upload the files and look at them on the flipshare program i have already installed. If you can help please let me know.

Floyd, I have finally completed the transition to Windows 7. I migrated a laptop that had Windows XP and a desktop that had Vista Home Premium running. Since that time, I have been using Flipshare with both systems and have not had any problem. The only challenge I have experienced is that I am an avid user of Google's CHROME browser, and Flipshare will NOT work with Chrome.

Judging from the search queries in my analytics program on the blog, you are not the only one that has experienced the problem though. I have about a dozen searches each week with FlipShare and Windows 7 in the query.

If you have resolved your challenge, or found a fix, please share it with the rest of our readers.

Floyd, I will be upgrading my first system to Windows 7 sometime this week. I will let you know if I run into the same challenge. I have checked with others that are using Flipshare on Win 7 without problems. If you discover something in the interim, please let us all know here.
